Exotic Alloys

When standard stainless is not enough. Duplex grades, nickel alloys, and titanium cover the chemistry where chlorides, acids, and sour gas eat through 316 in months. Specialty service supply with the documentation chain intact.

Duplex 2205 and Super Duplex 2507

Two-phase ferritic-austenitic stainless. Higher yield than F316L, better chloride pitting resistance, and lower nickel content. 2205 (UNS S31803) covers most chloride service. 2507 (UNS S32750) is super duplex with higher PREN for severe chloride environments. Offshore and marine applications.

Inconel 625 (UNS N06625)

Nickel-chromium-molybdenum with niobium. Excellent corrosion resistance across a wide pH range. Used on flue gas desulfurization, seawater piping, and ammonium nitrate fertilizer production. Welds with matching consumables (ERNiCrMo-3).

Inconel 825 (UNS N08825)

Nickel-iron-chromium with copper and molybdenum. Sulfuric and phosphoric acid resistance. Pickling tanks and acid processing service. Stress corrosion cracking resistance better than F316 in the same service.

Hastelloy C-276 (UNS N10276)

High-molybdenum nickel alloy with tungsten. Outstanding resistance to a broad range of corrosive media including wet chlorine and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Pharmaceutical and chemical processing service where the corrosion budget cannot tolerate any iron pickup.

Monel 400 (UNS N04400)

Nickel-copper alloy. Seawater and marine service, hydrofluoric acid handling, and brine systems. Galls easily; mating bolted joints need anti-seize on threads and careful torque control.

Titanium Grade 2

Commercially pure titanium. Excellent resistance to seawater, oxidizing acids, and chloride solutions. Pulp and paper bleach plant service. Galls and welds require argon shielding on both root and cap sides.
